Dr. Carolyn Justus joined the Frontier Village Team from Houston, TX in July 2015. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and practiced in the Houston area until the heat of the summers drove her to relocate to the Pacific Northwest. She developed close working relationships and friendships with her co-workers and took on the role of managing doctor in January of 2019.
Her special interests in veterinary medicine include pain management, emergency medicine, and wellness care. By becoming certified in veterinary acupuncture in 2014 from Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians program through CSU, she has been able to offer more integrative pain management options and alternative therapies.
On her days off, Dr. Justus enjoys horseback riding on her Arabian mare, Diva, and running with her Vizsla mix, Farrah. Dr. Justus is also a certified yoga teacher. Farrah (our clinic dog):
Farrah is a vizsla/Labrador mix (we call her a vizslador). She is about 10 years old and was adopted by her mom (Dr. Justus) in 2012 at around 2 years of age. Farrah loves her job at the clinic as canine mascot. She taste-tests all the treats to make sure they are premium quality for our patients. When she’s not working, you can find her outside, no matter the weather. She has boundless energy and does all of her mom’s half marathon training and horseback riding with her- sometimes running 20 + miles per day!
