Dr. Dawson grew up in the Olympia area of the Pacific Northwest. From a young age, she developed a passion for medicine both from her deep love of caring for animals and from her father who was a family physician. She graduated with honors from Saint Martin's University in 2010, receiving undergraduate degrees in Biology and English Literature. After a year of local and international volunteering, Dr. Dawson went on to earn her DVM degree from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 with a focus on small animal medicine. She has been practicing in the greater Seattle area since graduation and has been with Frontier Village Vet Clinic since April 2019.
Dr. Dawson is passionate about behavioral medicine, soft tissue surgery and veterinary wellness. She loves caring for each patient, connecting with clients and witnessing the power of the bond we share with our beloved furry friends. She is actively pursuing a Fear Free Medicine certification. When she is not working, Dr. Dawson loves backpacking and recently completed a 280-mile trek on the John Muir Trail. She runs a wilderness adventure and personal growth blog, speaks on medicine and wellness topics to colleagues and veterinary students, and enjoys reading, cosplay crafting and board gaming. She and her husband share their home with a kitty (Kiley) and two dogs (Buckley and Louie).
